Dr. Michal Brichacek is a double-board certified plastic surgeon practicing in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He specializes in general, craniofacial, and aesthetic facial surgery. Dr. Brichacek is certified by both the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and The American Board of Plastic Surgery. He received the highest possible score (99th percentile) on the written examination for certification by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
Dr. Brichacek has extensive training and advanced surgical experience in aesthetic and reconstructive facial surgery procedures. He completed plastic and reconstructive surgery training from the University of Manitoba and pursued his fellowship at the prestigious University of Toronto’s Craniofacial and Aesthetic Facial Surgery program. Prior to his training, he earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry with honours and was an NCAA athlete and captain of the fencing team.
Dr. Brichacek then earned his medical degree from the University of Western Ontario. During this time, he was involved in innovative research on facial paralysis at The John Hopkins Hospital. Dr. Brichacek remains actively involved in the field of plastic surgery as a researcher and peer reviewer for the Aesthetic Surgery Journal and the journal of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Brichacek is widely published, and his peer-reviewed research has appeared in numerous respected journals as well as been presented at major conferences. Furthermore, Dr. Brichacek is the current vice-chair of the Canadian Society of Plastic Surgeons’ Young Plastic Surgeons Committee.
